The Aztec empire, though no longer in existence, continues to fascinate us because to what we know about it and the artifacts they left behind. Montezuma’s legacy is particularly well-known, and as a result, we’re receiving a slot machine with his name on it. Swintt developed Montezuma, and for the most part, you will find appropriate images, even if the symbol selection doesn’t do him honor.
Montezuma is a five-reel, three-row slot with ten paylines. It boasts a 95.22 percent RTP and pays up to 500x the bet, making it a low volatility slot. The most significant features you will find inside are expanding wilds, scatter symbols, and free spins. A couple of important features I would mention would be the Montezuma Wild, Wheel of Fortune, and respins.
Montezuma Slot Prizes and Betting
While the quantity of coins changes, the denomination remains the same at $0.01. The total amount spent ranges from $0.10 to $100.
Montezuma doesn’t pay out much by today’s standards, but in a low-volatility environment, a 500x jackpot is achievable, so it still works out for players. However, there is a drawback: the 95.22 percent RTP is on the low side (it’s also part of a range with lower Return To Player values, so even this return is not assured).
Features of the Montezuma Slot Machine
Montezuma Wilds appear on reels 2, 3, and 4 in this game. As growing wilds, they take up the entire reel and can substitute for any normal symbol to produce winning combos. However, they will not be given any prizes of their own.
Pyramid scatters can appear on any reel and can only appear once per spin. These scatters will activate 12 free spins if they occur on three or more reels (retriggered if more scatters appear on the reels after that, or if 1-3 wilds appear).
The Montezuma Wild will be used to enhance the premium symbols one by one in this mode. It begins with the lowest paying premium sign and progresses to the next, and so on. There may eventually be only one type of premium symbol on the reels, in addition to the Royals, which will remain untouched.
Design & Theme
It may have been inspired by the Aztecs, although the Aztec influence is not overt in the design. The reels are set amid the ruins of an old temple, but the symbols are mostly uninteresting. In the low paying positions, the first four letters will be J through A. There are six luxury ones, featuring purple, green, red, orange, and yellow jewels. The top symbol is the diamond. The Montezuma Wild and the Pyramid scatter are both feature triggers.
Montezuma’s aesthetics, payouts, and Return To Player are all below par, so it’s just the bonus features that make this slot machine more appealing. It is a classic game with a not too good return to player of 95.22 percent. Overall, it is a very interesting game for lovers of classics and adventures.
